Glenda Springer's Biography
Glenda Springer brings over 28 years of experience in technology to the team. She earned a BBA: Business Administration with a specialization in Data Processing(now Information Technology) from Adelphi University in 1983. She began her career in the corporate financial sector in New York City in the early. 1980s. Glenda started her career in database design, systems analysis, programming, and pc applications. She has held positions with several companies such as New York Life Insurance Company, CARE, and Bankers Trust. In the mid 1990s, Glenda became a freelance computer consultant. She added presentation graphics, web design, and digital video to her skill set. Glenda began to teach technology classes in community centers, schools, and for non-profit organizations throughout New York City. She taught students from pre-K to 12 how to integrate technology into their lives. In the 2000s she managed after school programs that offered technology classes and tutoring to at-risk youth in Brooklyn NY. Glenda played a major role in advising the purchase of software and hardware as well as curriculum advice for projects and activities that included the integration of technology. Glenda Springer intends to utilize the solid foundation she has received in curriculum and instruction from the masters in education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix Online along with the specialty in computer education to combine all of her experience and skills for new ventures in education. The computer education specialization has given Glenda knowledge about the need for technology integration in schools. The computer specialization has spawned an interest in Glenda to pursue opportunities in instructional design for online schools, integration of Smartphone and tablet applications into K-12 curriculum, the use of Web 2.0 applications and the use of Kinect interactive education applications in classrooms. Glenda Springer intends to pursue further studies that include obtaining a PhD in the near future.
