Kahla Gress' Biography
Kahla is currently in her fourth year teaching at a public school in Virginia. She taught second grade for two years and is now in first grade for her second year. Prior to living in Virginia, Kahla lived in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. She graduated from Marshall University in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. She is currently continuing her education by obtaining a Masters in Technology Curriculum and Instruction. Kahla has always loved technology and playing around with electronics to "figure them out." She does the same in her classroom by allowing her students to explore learning and for them to learn by experiencing. Technology has really helped her to give the students these opportunities. Kahla believes that allowing the students to explore their knowledge that this will foster life-long learners.
Technology education is a growing need in all school districts because teachers are having to teach their first and second graders for jobs that they will have in twenty years and by then all of technology could change drastically. Kahla wants to teach her students to be like her and to sit down with technology and "figure it out" so she can create life-long learners.
